Live and Walk by the Spirit
There are two sides to every Christian, the flesh side and the Spirit side which are our old selves and our new selves as Christians. The two are diametrically opposed to each other. Our inner conflict between the flesh and spirit produces outward actions - fruit. The desires of the flesh lead to the works of the flesh - sinful vices, and the desires of the Spirit lead to the character of Christ in us - the fruit of the Spirit. Those in Christ are enabled by the Spirit to crucify the flesh. We must respond to the Spirit’s work in us by keeping in step with the Spirit.
