Marital Care Workshop

  • Furama City Centre (map)

Whether your marriage is in a great place or it’s struggling, we are not meant to be in it alone. Marriage is ordained in front of witnesses and it is meant to be lived out in community. Covid was very isolating for many of us and so we want to gather married couples together to encourage a culture of being intentional in your relationship and create an opportunity for you to be built up and further equipped in your marriages.

The programme is for all married couples, and will run for 4 weeks (dates to be confirmed). The first 3 weeks will be on your own time. We recommend planning a date night where you can engage in the material and discussion in a relaxed and unhurried manner together. We suggest setting aside at least an hour to watch the video (20-30min) and then spending some time on the discussion questions or exercises. The last week will be as a large group at a location to be advised later.

Week One: Fruitful or Fruitless

This session will give you an opportunity to understand the nature of some of the problems you face, how you may be reaching faulty or ineffective solutions and provide a framework to assess the strengths and weaknesses of your relationship.

Week Two: Communication and Conflict

This session will bust some myths, equip you with some principles of good communication and walk you through some practical ways in which you can identify your healthy or unhealthy patterns of conflict and communication and strengthen some good practices.

Week Three: Sexual Intimacy

This session aims to help you talk about this subject, which is something many couples struggle to do. As holistic beings, we will look at how physiology, psychology, and spirituality shape our sex lives and how to think better about these different aspects and pursue Christ as you pursue one another.

Week Four: Saturday Morning Workshop @ 9.00am-12.00pm

It’s no secret that there is no perfect marriage. We are all prone to believe the Instagram version of the couples around us. But when we come together and open up our lives to each other, we find that we are all more alike than we thought. This session will be in the form of a workshop where we will eat together, laugh together, hear from each other, and hopefully leave encouraged and refreshed.

If you and your spouse would like to be on a journey to "Cultivate Connection", do indicate your interest here. Please note that this is not a registration form, and that there will be a fee (per couple) for the workshop. The details and registration form will be provided at a later date.
