Lunar New Year is a major festival that has been celebrated from time immemorial. Beneath the myriad of customs (and even some modern conventions)—honouring Chinese deities and familial ancestors, hosting dinner parties and large gatherings—lies a common desire for community, abundance, and longevity. Each Lunar New Year brings about a renewed hope for some of these things.
How should we as Christians think about this? How can we talk about this with other people?
